Management

Account Manager

The primary client contact for services and new business development.

This position provides follow-up and follow-through to maintain  positive client relations, to ensure complete customer satisfaction and contract renewals. Suggests and sells non-contracted landscape services to meet the needs of property, increase customer satisfaction and gain additional revenue. Communicates specifications to production team and works to perform services in a profitable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business-to-business sales. Renew contract with existing clients. Insure strong positive relationships based on effective and frequent communication, build mutual trust and strong relationships. Develop a philosophy of providing service beyond expectations. Seek ways to provide more value to each client.
  • Proactively manage properties by locating landscape problems and offering opportunities to enhance client’s properties. Define a resolution within customers’ needs and budgetary parameters. Have frequent and effective communications with clients and team members.
  • Monitors crew activity and works closely with production team with scheduling, and customer service. Assure landscape services are completed on time and meet or exceeds company standards.
  • Maintain job costs and profitability goals.
  • Serve as a positive example and a mentor for team members.

Operations Manager

Oversee, schedule, manage and support crews performing landscape work. Assist crews in preparation daily, making sure each has the necessary resources to successfully complete the work. Prepare required records and reports on a timely basis. Oversee safety, training, client relationship, and resource management. Evaluate and assess equipment and tools and make recommendations. Observe crews on the job daily. Interact with clients and suggest enhancements. Communicate effectively with organization teams.

Requirements

  • Five years landscape field experience managing crews. Complete understanding and profiency with landscape tools and heavy equipment. A background in commercial snow management.
  • Knowledge of woody and herbaceous plants and a complete understanding of professional turfgrass culture. Established leadership and organizational skills. Proven ability with the financial aspects of the industry. Recognized team player and an effective people manager.
  • Working knowledge of the Spanish language and a understanding of the culture.

Supervisor

Manage and work with a crew of team members (2-5) on a daily basis. Snow management is often included. Analyze landscape sites, schedule jobs, evaluate results, keep records, prepare required reports, and operate trucks, trailers and equipment. Assure a safe work environment and deliver safety training. Provide instruction, guidance and training. Maintain quality standards and exceed client’s expectations. Possess complete knowledge and have hands on experience with landscape maintenance, design/build and hardscape practices.

The Supervisor/ Foreman provides leadership and inspires Team Members through a passion for details, efficiency, perfection, quality and exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Post High School training in horticulture, landscaping or related field preferred, but not required. Landscape work experience necessary.
  • Have or willing to obtain a pesticide application certificate.
  • Know ornamental plant identification; culture and soil management.
  • Be able to do physical labor, extensive walking, lift 80 pounds and work in all types of weather.
  • Strong communication, leadership and people skills. Clean Driver’s license, ability to operate landscape truck and trailer.
  • Have a “can do” attitude, be an effective and proven team player, and an honest person with the highest level of integrity.


Business

Office Administrator

The position is responsible for multiple and varied administrative functions, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tracking, timesheets, and project tracking.

The position relies heavily on strong interpersonal and computer skills along with the ability to identify problems, complete cause analysis and provide solutions as they relate to administrative activities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the timely collection and accurate completion of all Company documents required of staff.
  • Organize and prepare billing documents. Oversee billing and make routine collection calls
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions including, telephone calls, front office duties, correspondence, data entry, report preparation, processing paperwork, filing and computer work
  • Handle client calls, gather information and forward to management
  • Receive and respond to client complaints exercising discretion and judgment to resolve with management to achieve resolution.
  • Contribute to and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain complete client files and billing information.
  • Assist managers with the completion of estimates, and contracts
  • Issue and log purchase and work order numbers.
  • Work with vendors to source materials as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in business(Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Superior knowledge of computer applications.
  • Accounting background, AP, AR, General Ledger
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects

Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to a monthly close schedule
  • Work with Branch manager to develop and manage annual budget
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures in each branch office.
  • Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
  • Assist with financial and tax audits
  • Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
  • Assist with quarterly producer commission reports; analyzing and correcting discrepancies
  • Assist in maximizing purchasing power
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Other projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
  • 2 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of job cost accounting would be helpful.
  • Willingness to learn operation aspects of job hands on.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

Design

  • Using creativity and the beauty of nature to create a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing and functional design and develop the finished product, utilizing CAD programs and hand sketching
  • Perform site analyses.

  • Research plants and their ability to survive in the planned area
  • Make presentations, close the sale
  • Oversee installation of the project.

Responsibilities of the Landscape Designer

  • Seek opportunities for enhancement sales with existing clients.
  • Meet with clients to determine project goals and budget.
  • Measure and inventory site.
  • Prepare plans and presentation materials using CAD software programs and prepare cost proposals.
  • Present plans and proposals to clients and discuss opinions and options.
  • Prepare a work order for the successful proposal, obtaining necessary purchase orders, and permits.
  • Review project with install crew and provide support to ensure quality outcome.
  • Complete final walk-through with client and provide follow-up.

Requirements of the Landscape Designer

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in landscape design.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.
  • Degree in Landscape Design or Architecture program (preferred).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Business Developer

The primary customer contact for contracted accounts within the Landscape Management Division.

The Position clearly communicates contract specifications to production management and works in conjunction with production to perform services in a profitable manner.

This position is responsible for necessary follow-up and follow-through to maintain positive customer relations, to ensure complete customer satisfaction and contract renewals. Sells non-contracted landscape management services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business-to-business sales. Renew contract with existing clients. Insure strong positive relationships with customers based upon clear and frequent communication, mutual trust and ability to meet the their needs. Develop a win-win opportunities for the customer and the company.
  • Proactively manage properties by inspecting and locating problems in the landscape before the customer brings to our attention and then communicate problems to customers. Defines a resolution that is within customers’ needs and budgetary parameters.
  • Frequent, effective, professional, and timely communications with customers. Provides candid feedback on customer relationship and the customer’s perceptions of the product and service being provided, to maximize customer retention.
  • Monitors activity of crews and works closely with production staff regarding scheduling, quality and customer service. Assure all contracted services provided are of good quality and completed in a timely fashion. Communicate to appropriate parties any problem areas and work to find immediate resolution.

Requirements

  • 5 years landscape experience including crew supervision and operations management.
  • Must have a proven sales success.

Intern

The opportunity to “test drive” a career choice. Work and learn in a green industry company such as: landscape, hardscape, design/build, tree care, golf course and professional gardening. Best opportunities exist from Spring through Fall and can be scheduled to accommodate your needs. All internships are paid, require a drivers license and transportation to the location.

Co-op

A full-time paid position offering hands on work experience for a specific length of time, usually 3-12 months. A co-op is more in-depth; involving long-term projects preparing individuals for a specific career. Internships are shorting. The terminology is often interchangeable
